TFG Asset Management has cut Metro Central’s annual energy bill by around 10.5 percent after rolling out a number of successful green practices.

Cost-effective water- and energy-saving measures were implemented in partnership with Smart4Power after the consultancy firm advised how the property could become more environmentally responsible while boosting its bottom-line yields.

Significant energy savings have been made after installing the following:

- FCU temperature control;

- Water flow optimisation on the secondary side of the Heat Exchanger system;

- A kitchen exhaust fan controlled during the evening;

- Faucet water flow reduction in kitchen taps and guest room shower heads;

- LED lamp in corridor.

“Sustainable practices are no longer optional for the hotel sector; we have an obligation to reduce our energy footprint. In this respect we are very happy with what we have achieved at Metro Central,” said Head of TFG Asset Management Mariano Faz.

“We have also demonstrated to our stakeholders that our operations are both environmentally friendly and cost effective and in 2016 we anticipate official recognition for energy-saving practices at Metro Central with Green Key certification.”
