First Central Hotel Apartments has been honoured with a prestigious industry award recognising its cost-effective and eco-friendly sustainable hospitality operational practices.
The 2015 Best Green Technology and Sustainability Award, presented as part of the Hospitality Technology Awards (HTA) staged in Dubai on 4 November, recognised the property’s innovative use of energy efficient technologies, including installing LED in hotel rooms and public spaces and motion detector-controlled lighting in hallways. The result of this shift in strategy has been a significant fall in energy-related costs.
Commenting on the win, head of TFG Asset Management Mariano Faz said: “We are very pleased and honoured to receive this prestigious award. It recognises our commitment to energy efficiency and eco-friendly business practices, as well as our concern for the environment.
“Going green is no longer an option but a necessity.”
The win follows last month’s announcement that Auris Metro Central Hotel Apartments will partner with Green Key to adhere to its eco-label programme.
