Hotelier Express Summit 2016 brought together hospitality industry stakeholders from across the region to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The event was held at Grosvenor House on 23rd November 2016.
The full-day hospitality summit featured an array of distinguished speakers focusing on topical issues including opportunities for budget hotel operators; disruptors versus traditional hotel models; and opportunities arising from the digital revolution.
Henk Bruggeman, Director of HJA Hospitality, highlighted some of the more successful hotel F&B strategies, and explored conceptual and operational trends that were yielding optimal bottom-line results. He noted that the average gross operating profit margin for a standalone F&B outlet was 27% compared to 2% for a hotel-based F&B outlet.
“The conference was very well organised and many critical issues were discussed,” commented Hani Mansour, Senior Hotel Asset Manager at TFG Asset Management. “The panel discussions definitely provided food for thought.”
